Trips to
Sardinia

A trip to Sardinia is like an awakening of the senses, an encounter with an island that is as beautifully as it is untamed, a place that above all is absolutely authentic. Far from the well-worn routes of Europe, in Sardinia you can drift along the coast where turquoise waters meet sculpted granite cliffs and secret coves await, as the only way to get to them is by boat. Inland, ancient traditions abound in immutable villages where artisans still today shape delicate filigree jewelry, work on intricate handwoven fabrics, and pass down culinary secrets that make every meal an experience just waiting to be savored. Sardinia tours can be a wild ride or as gentle as you wish — stroll through the sun-bleached nuraghe ruins, taste bold wines in family-owned vineyards, or join shepherds for an intimate lunch of fresh pecorino and pane carasau. In the evenings, what better way to end the day than just sit and watch the sky blush pink over rugged hills while you dine on freshly-caught seafood and the island’s famed bottarga. Whether you dream of sailing the crystalline waters of the Maddalena Archipelago, exploring untamed mountain trails, or delving into Sardinia’s unique blend of Mediterranean cultures, our bespoke itineraries make your journey one that’s crafted around what moves you most. Each trip is an invitation to connect with a land where nature, heritage, and raw beauty reign. It is our pleasure to design a Sardinian escape that unfolds at your leisure, at your very own rhythm – off the beaten path – to a place soon to be, forever in your heart.

What to see in
Sardinia

This is paradise, Mediterranean style, and a beach vacation here is like no other. Here you’ll find a land where the raw nature and ancient culture of Sardinia coexist in striking harmony, and around every corner of this island lies another corner of paradise, waiting to be discovered on one of our carefully curated vacation packages, made to measure, for you.

The glamorous Costa Smeralda, accessible via Olbia, is the embodiment of Sardinian luxury at its finest — yachts rock lazily in turquoise bays, anchored off soft white beaches, and it’s just a quick trip to shore for some refined comfort during the day or vibrant nightlife after dark. Not far away, the Maddalena Archipelago is a must for nature lovers with its secluded coves and protected marine reserves. Inland, in the rugged heart of Sardinia, the Barbagia region awaits; a place where you can feel the essence of the island’s wild nature and enduring heritage. Hiking trails wind their way through dramatic limestone peaks, wine tours meander leisurely through remote vineyards, and ancient nuraghe stand the test of time, silent sentinels of Sardinia’s Bronze Age. An off-road jeep safari is a great way to get to even the most remote trail, and what better way to take a break in Sardinia than a rustic lunch with a local shepherd as haunting canti a tenore echo across the hills? You’ll find the ancient art of weaving still thrives in quiet workshops where traditional crafts are handed down by skilled hands from one generation to the next.

A speedboat ride along the untamed eastern coast is a thrilling way to discover treasures like Cala Goloritzé — one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Farther south, the island’s spirited capital, Cagliari, with its warm urban allure, is a great place to find out more about the island’s history. And if you continue into the Sulcis Iglesiente region you’ll find raw coastal cliffs, old abandoned mines open for exploration, e-bike routes through unspoiled landscapes, and unforgettable boat tours to skim along one of Italy’s most sublime shorelines.

What to do in
Sardinia

In Sardinia, every trail, cove, and vineyard adds another stunning layer to a vacation designed for travelers who just love to explore. Adventure seekers can hike Sardinia’s rugged heartland through stunning limestone gorges, to happen across hidden waterfalls, along ancient shepherd trails where the footsteps of long-forgotten times remain. In a kayak you can glide across bright waters to secret inlets unreachable on foot, for a sight in a place, few ever see. Inland, a bike tour through the rolling hills and ancient olive groves of the Barbagia or the vineyards of the Sulcis Iglesiente will soon tune you into Sardinia’s authentic rhythm. And why not stop at a secluded cellar for a wine tour for a taste of a bold Cannonau red or crisp Vermentino white in the company of local winemakers, the same families who have been tending these very vines for centuries. For those who hear the call of the sea, when the mistral fills your sails, a day spent sailing your way through the Maddalena Archipelago or into the untamed eastern coves gives you a taste of pure Sardinian freedom — stopping to dive into the clear waters of hidden bays if hot, or for a picnic on a deserted beach if hungry. Every experience can be designed as part of a private adventure, with knowledgeable, local, English-speaking guides ready to take you to secret spots with genuine stories of their own, and perhaps a local legend or two. Whether it’s an invigorating hike at dawn, a sunset sail watching the sun go down, or wine tasting in the shade of ancient cork trees, in Sardinia you can take it slow, savor the moment, and discover the wild side of the Mediterranean in a way that feels deeply personal, a memorable experience, to say the least.

SEASONAL GUIDE

Planning your trip
essential travel tips

When you choose Sardinia as your destination, to explore the island’s natural wonders it’s a good idea to thoughtfully plan the practical details to make your journey a smooth and unforgettable one. The island has two main airports — Cagliari in the south and Olbia in the north — with numerous flights from major Italian cities. Overnight ferries from Lazio or Tuscany are also an alternative way to get to the island, although flying in remains the most convenient way to get to Sardinia swiftly and comfortably. Once on the island, private drivers are the best way to explore Sardinia’s diverse regions for a relaxing, personalized journey, free from the limitations and waits of public transport. Sardinia is a big island and there are many winding roads, so travel times can be long; planning an itinerary that begins in Olbia and ends in Cagliari (or vice versa) is an excellent way to explore all the island’s beauty north-to-south without backtracking. Sardinia is a seasonal destination and the best time to visit is from late April through mid-October. Spring and autumn are the best time for hiking and outdoor adventures, when temperatures are mild and the landscape is lush and vibrant. Summer is a great time to hit the beach to paddle in the island’s warm waters and revel in the sun-soaked coastlines, while the quieter winter months offer a peaceful, slow-travel Sardinian experience to discover the island’s rich culture at leisure — although many tourist services may be limited in winter. Crafting your itinerary with these essentials in mind is the best way to make your Sardinian journey enriching, effortless and absolutely indelible.
